Inzinna Research Lab

Introduction

The Inzinna Research Lab at Dr. Inzinna Psychological Services PLLC (DIPS) conducts applied research focused on psychotherapy process, outcome measurement, and implementation science.

The lab’s mission is to advance understanding of how integrative, evidence-based treatments can be made more accessible, effective, and affordable in real-world outpatient settings.

Research Focus Areas

  • Integration of Theory and Practice: Studying how cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and relational interventions interact in the therapeutic process.
  • Exposure-Based Change Mechanisms: Examining how emotional and behavioral avoidance impacts psychological growth and treatment outcomes.
  • Telehealth and Access to Care: Investigating effectiveness and accessibility of virtual therapy and hybrid training models.
  • Affordability and Systems Efficiency: Exploring cost and implementation barriers to mental health care within insurance-based settings.

Current Project

The lab’s current project focuses on the conceptual development of Cognitive Behavioral Psychoanalysis (CBP) — an integrative, transtheoretical framework that seeks to unify exposure-based and relational principles across psychotherapeutic modalities.

Interns and staff participate in outcome tracking, literature review, and data-informed reflection to bridge the gap between research and clinical practice.

Opportunities

Internship and externship trainees may participate in data collection, process-outcome analysis, and dissemination efforts through presentations, posters, and manuscript preparation. Participation is optional and designed to complement clinical training.
